The Best Sofas for an Afternoon Nap

The Best Sofas for an Afternoon Nap

Raise your hand if you love a good nap. Sometimes, you just need to rest your eyes -- why else is golf televised? An afternoon nap is a luxury, so why not find an equally indulgent spot to sleep for a few minutes?

The AFW team is always talking furniture, so when one of our graphic designers told us how frustrated he was trying to take a quick living room nap, we discussed which qualities make a sofa good for sleeping.

We asked ourselves (as the furniture experts): Is the width the most important factor, or is it the cushion’s density? Is leather a nap-friendly material, or is it too rigid? So what is the most critical factor for a napping couch? Seat depth.

It’s hard to fully relax when the sofa’s edge is too close for comfort. Any sofa with a seat depth of at least 40” will ensure you have room to roll.
